Operation Summer Break Challenge

It's already August and the summer break is almost over, and for some it has already ended. I hope you all had a very fun, relaxing and productive summer. We had a great summer, it went by to fast but it was good. I am ready for some cool weather. LOL!!! How did you do with the Summer Challenge??? I want to know!!! Operation Summer Break Challenge List
  1. Take a 5-7 day family trip somewhere you all have never been. Make it an adventure and a learning experience. Go to a museum, visit the state park, collect items for a future school project, take pictures for a scrapbook and don't forget to have fun. Check
  2. Go to the library weekly - have a goal to read 2000 minutes, min 30 minutes a day. They also have lots of great activities at the library daily and most of them are free.
  3. Learn a new skill or hobby - knitting, sewing, painting, swimming, running, tennis etc. Check
  4. Invite your friends and family to a pot luck BBQ - with the hustle and bustle of school and other activities you probably didn't get to spend much quality time with friends and family so organizes a BBQ and reconnect.
  5. Volunteer - spend some time giving back and help those less fortunate than you. This is a humbling experience for the whole family. Check
  6. Have a day of pampering. Have your husband or significant other take the kids out for Daddy kid time and you "The Queen Diva" enjoy yourself. Spend some quiet time at home, go to the salon, go to the gym, sit in the sauna or steam room, take yourself out to lunch. Whatever you like just do it!
  7. Cook a new dish with the kids. Find a kid friendly recipe and experiment with something new.Check
  8. Girls Night Out - Get together with your girlfriends and hang out, go to the movies, go clubbing, go out to dinner, whatever just go....
  9. Movie Night - have a movie night with the family at home or at the theatre.
  10. Game Night - spend some quality time at home with the kids playing games and having fun.
  11. Start a book club with your neighbors and friends. Check
  12. Create a "Vision Board" - Get a poster board and go through magazines and cut out pictures that represent your goals and desires. Look at it and appreciate it daily and list all those things that you accomplish. Check
  13. Create a "Gratitude Journal" Make a habit daily to list all the things you are thankful for, giving thanks to God for Blessing you! Have an attitude for gratitude!
  14. Attend Vacation Bible School as a family. Check
  15. Go a WHOLE week without electronics - television, Internet, games devices *** That's a Big Challenge!! OK maybe 5 days and one or two devices LOL!!! Check -No TV
  16. Clean an area that has been neglected and needs attention - the garage, storage closet, kids playroom, etc. and donate items to charity.
  17. Try a DIY project - paint a room, paint some furniture, redecorate.
  18. Go bike riding. Check
  19. Kid Entrepreneurs - challenge your kids to create a business and work it. Check - Daughter started a dog walking business- call us if you need your dog walked.
  20. Invite your neighbor to church. Check
  21. Date Night with your Hubby or significant other. Spend some quality time with the one you love. Make it a double date with some friends you haven't seen in a while. Check
12 out of 21 not bad, we are still working on it!!! (^.^)
